New facilities on housing estate

Community facilities worth £300,000 are being promised as part of a new housing estate in north Bristol.

Bovis wants to build 800 new houses in Upper Horfield, with the city council making the money a condition of the planning application.

It will be used to improve parks, libraries and for a community fund.

Councillor Mark Bradshaw said: "The development in Upper Horfield was identified as a scheme that would need extra facilities."
